We all know that oil and water don’t mix. Unfortunately, the Federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has put forth a proposal to reverse a decades long ban and open our coastal waters to more offshore oil drilling.
With 1.5 miles of shoreline, Torrance has too much at stake to allow this to happen.
Surfers, fisherpeople, the tourism economy, and our residents who like to recreate at the beach are all impacted.
To make matters worse, the Bureau is only holding one hearing to accept public comment in the State of California- a State of 39 million people. This is not the definition of transparency.
Here’s how you can make your voice heard and help to protect our coastline.
- Take 20 seconds to leave a comment opposing this reckless and shortsighted proposal.
